School-wide language policy:
In line with the fine-tuning of the Medium of Instruction (MOI) policy for secondary schools in the 2010/2011 school year, Mathematics and Geography will be taught in English in some classes at the junior secondary level, while History, Integrated Science, Business, Economics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry will be taught in English with extension activities, and History will be taught in English instead of Mathematics from the middle of the 2022/2023 school year onwards in some classes. A Language Enrichment Program will be introduced in senior secondary schools to strengthen students' language proficiency. The school has set up a Chinese and English debating team many years ago to link up with the New Senior Secondary Curriculum, so as to provide students with more opportunities to utilize the language and enhance their confidence in applying the language. The junior high school fully participates in the Online English Learning Program, in which students make use of the school's intranet resources to learn vocabulary commonly used in various subjects and broaden their horizons.
With additional funding from the Education Bureau, the school has established diversified English language teaching resources and created a learning platform to promote English language learning. Foreign English teachers have been recruited to provide additional and diversified English language training for students. Other Life-wide Learning activities include Ningbo English Revival Camp, English Drama and Cultural Immersion Workshop, Halloween English Party, English Month, Lunchtime English Radio and English Debate Team. In Chinese and English, there are extensive reading programs such as the "Reading Positive Reading Program", "Read a Good Book", and the "Reading Marathon". The Putonghua Ambassadors are dedicated to promoting Putonghua, and have organized lunchtime singing and inter-class Putonghua competitions to encourage students to speak and use Putonghua more often. In addition, the school-wide newspaper subscription, debate team, editorial board, campus radio, emcee training, speech contests, creative writing workshops, drama performances, and literary walks have been organized to enhance students' biliteracy and trilingualism.

The school culture is strict and simple, and the relationship between teachers and students is harmonious. The school emphasizes the cultivation of students' moral character, and has a double class teacher system for Junior Forms and a triple class teacher system for Secondary 1 and 2, as well as measures such as lunch at school. Teachers and students communicate with each other frequently, and the school social worker provides professional counseling to help students and parents solve their problems. The "Growing with Care" and "Caring Campus" programs are implemented to help new students adapt to the new environment and to promote the spirit of peer support. A system is in place for students to make amends for their mistakes, so that they can positively face their mistakes and consciously bear the consequences of their behavior. Learning and Teaching Strategies :
We emphasize on the five education areas, and instill moral and civic education outside the formal classroom, so as to cultivate the overall character of students. Self-learning questions, English extension questions and challenge questions are included in the examination papers to promote independent learning and to assess students' self-learning and higher-order thinking skills. The Bridging Courses for Primary 6 to Secondary 1 and Secondary 3 to Secondary 4 strengthen language learning and enable students to adapt to the English learning environment as soon as possible. The Chinese, English and Integrated Science subjects have participated in the Education Bureau's Science Domain Support Service and conducted joint research with education experts to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching. S1-S6 English, Mathematics and Liberal Studies/Civic and Social Development have set up joint lesson planning sessions, and promoted classroom research, peer observation and parent lesson observation to optimize teaching activities and enhance students' learning effectiveness. This year, the focus is on the promotion of STEM education and the establishment of a STEM team to lead teachers and students to make good use of technological materials to nurture Ningbo students with technological literacy, global vision and creative thinking.
Teacher professional training and development:
The Professional Development Section has developed teacher training themes and organized visits, lectures, workshops and seminars to enable teachers to learn and teach new knowledge and to keep abreast of the times. Teachers of Chinese, English, Mathematics, Liberal Studies and the STEM team have joint lesson planning sessions, so that through collaboration and sharing, teaching strategies can be adjusted to enhance students' learning effectiveness.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
Student support groups were set up and the Learning Support Grant was utilized to support students with special learning needs.
