The school's ethos is simple, emphasizing discipline and character development. The integration of discipline and counseling is an effective way to enhance students' moral character. In order to cultivate students' self-discipline and explore their potential, the Discipline and Guidance Section has implemented a number of activities, including the "Grade Discipline and Guidance Period", the "Budding Leaders Scheme for Junior Secondary Schools", and the "Positive Life Student Ambassador Scheme", to build up students' character and self-confidence, and to equip them to become the leaders of tomorrow. The dual-teacher system, the "TEEN Ambassadors", and the arrangement for leadership students to be the team leaders of orientation activities, etc., aim at promoting peer-teacher relationships and instilling a caring culture in the campus. In addition, the school social worker service provided by the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), the school-based educational psychologist from the Education Bureau providing support to students with learning needs, and the Lutheran Church of South Asia (LCCSA) collaborating with the school in organizing various spiritual activities have become a strong support for the students.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
The school endeavors to enhance students' ability to "learn to learn" and to nurture students to become "active and self-disciplined" learners, through
1. to promote "e-learning" to broaden students' knowledge, increase their interest in learning and enhance their self-learning abilities.
2. to optimize the "cross-curricular language" curriculum to train students to combine their thinking and organizing skills with their language skills to master different learning contents.
3. To make good use of "learning data", students can regularly review their learning progress, set learning targets and promote self-directed learning.
4. Optimize life-wide learning activities to broaden students' horizons and enhance their ability to apply and deepen what they have learned in class.
5. Through the implementation of the "My Growth Journey" in junior secondary schools, students are able to recognize their own potentials and set their own growth targets according to their personalities and interests so as to plan for their careers. Class teachers and supporting teachers will become their peers to guide students in managing their time, reviewing their classroom performance and subject achievements, so as to develop their reflective spirit and become self-directed learners.
