The school adopts mother-tongue teaching to enable students to master the contents of the classroom, analyze problems and express their opinions more effectively. Students are actively engaged in learning activities in the classroom and broaden their learning experiences through extensive reading, e-learning and participation in different learning activities. Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The School adopts a "Whole School Approach" in implementing IE and has set up a Student Support Team to provide comprehensive support to students with SEN. Members of the Team include the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Special Educational Needs Support Teachers, Guidance Team Teachers, Social Workers, Counselors and Educational Psychologists. To enhance the effectiveness of IE, educational psychologists will have regular professional exchanges with members of the Student Support Team. In addition, to enhance the professional capacity of teachers, the Unit also arranges for them to enroll in courses related to IE.
The school utilizes the Learning Support Grant (LSA) and other school resources flexibly. The school's Comprehensive Student Support Programme (CSSP) allows each student with SEN to be assigned to a dedicated staff (social worker/counselor/teacher) for individual counseling, and to support the student's academic and developmental development through a wide range of activities according to the student's individual needs, which include: developmental lessons, training groups, and interest groups.
Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:
The School provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; and organizing cultural integration activities.
