Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The school is committed to building an inclusive culture and adopting a "Whole School Approach" to support students with special educational needs (SEN). Through the deployment of resources, appropriate and diversified support services are provided to students to enhance their learning effectiveness and facilitate their integration into school life, and the school has set up a Student Support Team comprising the SEN Co-ordinator, Support Teachers, Subject Teachers of the core subjects, Social Workers and Teaching Assistants.
The school utilizes the Learning Support Grant to employ additional teaching assistants to cater for learning diversity through the Whole School Approach, and purchases services such as speech therapy, social training groups, Chinese and English literacy training groups, individual counseling, and after-school tutoring to support students.
In addition, the school provides special examination arrangements for students with special educational needs (SEN) within the school and applies to the Hong Kong Examinations Authority (HKEAA) for special examination arrangements corresponding to the public examinations for these students. The school also provides information and arranges training for teachers on the EDB's "Catering for Diverse Learning Needs" training program. The school also works closely with professionals such as the EDB and school-based educational psychologists to conduct regular individual meetings and student assessments, and invites parents to participate in the meetings and workshops, so as to jointly formulate Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for the students, and to review the effectiveness of the ILPs regularly, so as to equip parents with the skills to effectively care for and teach their children.
