Application for S1 admission:

The school accepts applications for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places and participates in the Central Allocation of Secondary School Places System. In addition to the academic performance of the applicants, the admission criteria emphasize the students' conduct. Applicants with Grade B or above in internal conduct and average scores in Chinese, English and Mathematics will be given priority for consideration.

The school is strict but caring, emphasizes student conduct, maintains a simple school ethos, and actively promotes classroom management and positive education. The whole school participates in discipline and counseling to nurture student growth. The school encourages and facilitates the development of other learning experiences, and has set up the "Learning Appearance Points" system to strengthen and reward students with good behavior and service performance. The Extra-curricular Activities Section is responsible for coordinating and organizing a wide range of extra-curricular activities and encouraging students to participate in community activities and serve the community. The Student Support Section is dedicated to the implementation of various integrated education services to provide appropriate support to students in need. In this school year, the Student Support Team consists of the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, six teachers of Chinese, English and Economics, a social worker and an educational psychologist. The school emphasizes on enhancing the overall language ability of the students, and has adopted a split-class approach to reduce the learning diversity of the students in junior secondary schools, and has set up an English enhancement class in junior secondary schools to reduce the learning diversity through small class teaching. At the same time, the school has hired external organizations to provide after-school classes such as "Reading and Writing Group", "Inclusive Parent Training", "Speech Therapy", "Aerial Photography Group", and "Counseling by Clinical Psychologists", etc., in order to help students with different needs. In addition, the school provides lectures/workshops on parent education to help parents understand the academic, behavioral, emotional and social characteristics of their students. Career planning counseling is also a focus of the group. Students are exposed to a wide range of career information through group counseling, industry and institution visits. An Educational Psychologist is stationed at the school for about 20 days a year to strengthen the support for students, parents and teachers.

In addition to classrooms, special rooms and auditoriums, the rainy day playground and student activity center have been air-conditioned and wifi installed, while classrooms and special rooms are equipped with multi-media projectors, computers, physical projectors and infrared wireless sound system. Since the completion of the new wing in 2004, the school has added an English Learning Center, a 140-seat lecture hall, and a campus TV control room to allow students to participate in a wide range of activities outside of school hours, and in 2021, the school converted the roof area into an indoor athletic field to allow students to participate in sports without being affected by the rain. In addition, the school has renovated its library, adding Chinese elements to the interior decorations and creating a study space to provide a comfortable environment for studying and reading. In order to promote Chinese culture, the garden sitting area has been equipped with a traditional decoration called "Interjection", which means: "If it is empty, then it will be an interjection; if it is neutral, then it will be upright; if it is full, then it will be a cover," reminding the students that they should adopt the "Middle Way" in their lives and conduct themselves in the world.

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
