Learning and Teaching Strategies :

Through the use of different teaching modes, we can develop multiple intelligences, enhance self-confidence and achieve whole-person education. The curriculum is student-centered, designed and tailored to meet students' abilities and needs. Through the school-based curriculum design, students are encouraged to think and read more in order to develop self-learning spirit. The good performance of the school's students in public examinations proves the effectiveness of the above strategies. The school encourages students to participate in joint school activities and inter-school competitions, and often organizes cross-border field trips and study tours to enable students to make use of their knowledge and experience.

Teacher professional training and development:

This year, the school is committed to training teachers to become a professional learning community with the following development strategies:

  1. Classroom research and professional exchange sessions are utilized to gather teachers' valuable opinions and experiences, thereby promoting exchanges and sharing to enhance the quality of teaching.
  2. Organize relevant training activities on independent learning and positive thinking education to tie in with the school's current year's concern.
  3. Encourage undergraduate or cross-disciplinary collaboration to promote curriculum development across disciplines and to implement school-based learning and teaching development priorities.
  4. Encourage teaching and research and develop teaching and research talents to optimize curriculum leadership and become the backbone of curriculum development.
  5. Encourage exchanges outside the school to stimulate new ideas for teaching.
  6. Encourage collaboration with education professional bodies to enhance the professionalism of teachers.

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The school adopts a whole-school approach to cater for students with special educational needs (SEN). The SEN Co-ordinator co-ordinates all subject groups and organizes different activities and individual learning programmes with the professional assistance of educational psychologists and social workers. Students with SEN, including those with hearing impairment and other special learning needs, are provided with learning support by teachers who have received relevant teacher training and extended examination answer time to make their learning more effective.

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

The school provides additional support to the admitted NCS students to help them learn Chinese: developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities. The school has set up an after-school support platform for NCS students, which includes Chinese language skills training, peer cooperative learning, guided storytelling, Chinese language adaptation program, after-school pull-out Chinese language learning groups, Chinese culture appreciation, teacher-led after-school learning groups, and provision of teaching materials.

The school's classrooms are well-equipped with physical projectors, computers, Apple TVs, projectors and Internet access points in each classroom. In recent years, the school has remodeled the auditorium, garden, library, visual arts room, multimedia classrooms, and performing arts center, upgraded the computer equipment and installed electronic whiteboards in each classroom, and remodeled the basement into a multi-purpose activity room, as well as the "Dexin School House" (a room for Chinese culture), so as to make the teaching and learning facilities excellent and complete. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
Parents may refer to the "Handbook on Application for Secondary One Discretionary Places", or visitEducation Bureau(https://www.edb.gov.hk/) or call: 2891 0088 for a list of schools through the Education Bureau's automated telephone enquiry system.
Parents can submit applications in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-Platform. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn, canceled or changed.

Parents are advised to consider two important factors when choosing a school for their children: their children's abilities and the characteristics of the preferred school.

You can communicate with your child's subject teachers to learn more about your child's abilities. For the characteristics of the target school, you may refer to the "Profile of a Secondary School" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to understand the school's philosophy, language of instruction, religion, class structure, etc. You may also refer to the "School Profile" issued by the Committee on Home-School Co-operation to learn more about the school's philosophy, language, religion and class structure.Visit the school's webpage on this websiteThis is because our information is also collected from theSecondary School OverviewThe school's website and information about the school on the internet, including the schools' Youtube Channels.

We believe that as long as we choose suitable schools according to the abilities of our children, we will make them happy to learn and enjoy going to school, which will be most helpful to their studies.

Parents can only apply for a maximum of two participating secondary schools for their children. Note: Applications for Discretionary Places from more than two secondary schools, whether submitted in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-platform, will be considered invalid.
There is no district restriction on the application for discretionary places and parents can choose target secondary schools across districts.
