The school provides biliteracy and trilingualism for its students, and equips them with a diversified and solid linguistic strength. With the exception of a few subjects, such as Chinese History, Visual Arts and Religious Education, which are taught in English, the Chinese Language subject is taught in Putonghua at S1 and S2 levels. English teachers communicate with students in English every day, with Tuesdays and Fridays being English Day and Thursdays being Putonghua Day. Every year, we organize off-shore study tours and exchange activities with sister schools overseas, in order to create a language environment. Through the Language Across the Curriculum, we promote collaboration between junior secondary English and other English-medium subjects, and strengthen collaboration in cross-curricular curriculum design, collaborative lesson planning, and research on pedagogical methods to facilitate articulation with senior secondary learning. The Education Bureau has also invited the English Language and Chinese Language subjects of Hsuan Kei to participate in the Professional Development Schools Scheme to demonstrate their school-based strategies and experiences. The school has also employed two expatriate English teachers to enhance the English language atmosphere.

Based on the Christian culture, we are committed to nurturing our students with care and concern, establishing a strict and simple school ethos, and developing good character in our students. This year's focus is on deepening students' positive empathy, teaching them to respect others, and developing them into respectable human beings. Character education is promoted through classrooms, morning assemblies, weekly meetings, and forums. The theme of the Commitment Day at the beginning of the school year in September was "Positive Life. We are committed to building an inclusive culture and adopting a "Whole School Approach" to support students with special educational needs (SEN) by providing diversified and appropriate support services to help students enhance their learning effectiveness and integrate into school life. The Student Support Team consists of the Principal, Vice-Principal, SEN Co-ordinator, Heads of Discipline, Guidance and Academic Administration Teams, Social Worker, Educational Psychologist and Teaching and Learning Assistants. The Support Team works closely with the class teachers and subject teams to support students in need. The school provides appropriate support to students with special educational needs, such as: small group teaching and extra classes in English and Mathematics at junior secondary levels to help take care of students with special educational needs; homework and test adaptation for students with special educational needs; speech therapy services; social training groups and volunteer training groups to train social skills, helping skills and problem solving skills to enhance students' self-confidence, sense of self-efficacy, social and communication skills, and to improve the quality of life of the students. The school-based educational psychologists also provide training on social skills, self-confidence, self-efficacy, socialization and communication skills to the students. Meanwhile, the school-based educational psychologists and social workers have co-organized a mental health team to pay attention to the mental and psychological health of students. Home-school co-operation is emphasized and a regular communication mechanism has been established to discuss with parents on strategies to support students through different channels.

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
