The school has a morning reading and writing time, an extracurricular book reading program, a newspaper reading program, subject exhibitions, and book exhibitions to enhance the academic atmosphere of the students, a whole-person education to take care of the whole-person development of the students, and a whole-school discipline and guidance program to take care of the needs of the students in a holistic manner.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Encouraging the use of multi-media teaching and encouraging students to collect information from newspapers, publications and the Internet for self-learning, incorporating discussion and presentation skills training into subjects, and replacing some tests and examinations with project learning. School-based curricula for Chinese History, History, Integrated Humanities and Science have been introduced at junior secondary levels to actively promote student-centered learning and teaching.
The school has a diversified curriculum that emphasizes language skills, thinking skills, speaking skills and information technology applications. The school-based senior secondary curriculum has been developed to prepare for the new senior secondary curriculum. The Reading and Writing Scheme is implemented in the Junior School every morning to promote reading and writing. Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The School has set up a Student Support Team comprising the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Speech Therapist, Social Worker, Student Guidance Counselor, Chinese Language Teacher, Mathematics Teacher, Science Teacher, etc. The Educational Psychologist provides assessment services for students with suspected specific learning difficulties. The Educational Psychologist provides assessment services for students with suspected Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), the Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker and Student Counselor provide emotional support, and the Speech Therapist provides assessment and training. The school also provides educational training for parents and teachers to enhance their skills in catering for the different learning needs of the students and to build up an inclusive culture. For Tier 2 support, counseling and training activities are organized for needy students to support their developmental needs, such as "Social and Emotional Learning Group", "Career Planning Counseling" and "After-school Support Tutorials".
