Learning and Teaching Strategies :
Teaching at HKYKC is student-led. Through a student-centered learning and teaching model, we encourage students to learn independently, to develop different learning experiences, to actively construct knowledge and to develop their abilities. Based on students' willingness to choose subjects and their learning abilities, we organize classes and groups to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
The medium of instruction is English (except as a second language) and the curriculum is tailored to blend the local and international curricula. A blended curriculum is offered, with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) as the local curriculum and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the London General Certificate of Education (UK GCE 'A' Level) as the international curriculum.
Upon promotion to Secondary 3, students may choose to study the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) at Secondary 4 to 6 or study and apply for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at Secondary 4 and the United Kingdom General Certificate of Education (UK GCE A Level) at Secondary 5 and 6 to meet the different needs of their future university education.
