We emphasize the importance of cultivating students' "biliteracy and trilingualism": Chinese is the main medium of instruction, and Putonghua is used for teaching Chinese Language at junior secondary level; English Language is fully committed to improving students' English proficiency, and theme-based teaching is used in the classroom to cultivate students' ability in listening, speaking, reading, and writing; and appropriate English contexts are created outside the classroom to broaden students' learning experience, and to make use of English in their daily lives, such as setting up an English radio station, taking part in speech and recitation competitions, and studying and communicating with other students overseas.
