The school's culture is simple, the students are taught calmly, and the school is well-disciplined with the support of the class teachers who work closely with the parents, the highly effective counseling team and its work, the lunch detention and lunchtime activities for Forms 1-3, the interest group activities and the uniformed team for the students to participate in.
In order to enhance students' ability to appreciate the arts, S1 students are required to participate in one arts activity (English drama, Chinese orchestra, choir or dance group). S4 and S5 students are provided with a tutorial course on arts appreciation, and are led to enjoy performances or exhibitions of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Hong Kong Dance Company, and the Tsui Tsin Tong Museum of Chinese Art on a regular basis.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

The Chinese, English and Mathematics subjects are taught in small groups of about 20 students each according to their level. Teachers have more time to give individualized guidance to help students improve their level and confidence. Each group has its own curriculum and teaching objectives in order to achieve the functions of "excellence" and "remediation".
In the senior grades, the main focus is on practicing, thinking and assessing, in order to build a strong foundation of knowledge, which will help students to develop in the future, as well as help them to cope with the public examinations and to go on to university.
The whole school has implemented the "Reading Scheme" before school, and S1 has set up a reading subject to teach students reading skills, while students are also required to read extra-curricular books and newspapers in other subjects.
Public Examination Results: In the future, the school will take assisting students to study in universities as its main goal, and is now implementing a series of programs to help students, with tutorial classes for all subjects in Form 5 and Form 6 to help students in need to achieve good results. In the past few years, the pass rate of the Diploma of Secondary Education Examination was more than 80%, and every year about 90% of the students were admitted to universities and tertiary institutions. In recent years, a number of students from the school have gone on to study in universities with excellent results. For example, Ng Yiu Fai was admitted to the Department of Actuarial Science at the University of Hong Kong, Lam Siu Sze and Lo Ting Hei were admitted to the Department of Finance and Accounting at the University of Hong Kong, Tsang Mee Po was admitted to the Department of Physiotherapy at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Ng Yuk Yee was given priority in the Department of Nursing at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine, Ip Wing Yee was admitted to the Department of Professional Accountancy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Leung Yau Chun was admitted to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Teacher professional training and development:

In order to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning, the school focuses on the development of "classroom teaching research", in which all teachers participate to optimize learning and teaching, and to strengthen the culture of lesson observation and exchange. The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
