School Wind:

Based on the five core values of Catholic education (Truth, Life, Family, Virtue and Love) and especially on the love of Christ, we allow our students to grow in an environment of love. Therefore, teachers will be sympathetic and tolerant when dealing with students' problems, and we expect our students to develop an attitude of honesty, righteousness and appreciation of others through positive experiences. We are committed to providing opportunities for students to realize their potential and to develop into active and responsible citizens of society.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

Learning and teaching are aligned with students' real-life, cognitive and psychological development, as well as strengthening students' collaborative skills and independent learning. Classes emphasize cooperative learning and the teaching of thinking and expression. The curriculum is designed to develop students' potentials and to cater for individual differences, so that students with different abilities can have the opportunity to realize their potentials. From S1 to S3, the original five classes have been split into six classes to take care of the diversity of learning and to provide support for learning and growth.

As the school is a "through-train" school, there is more flexibility in curriculum arrangement, and a student and school-based 12-year curriculum is designed. In Form 1, the Life and Social Studies subject is offered as an articulation to the NSS Liberal Studies Curriculum. The school emphasizes reading, with morning reading classes, good book introductions, author talks, newspaper subscriptions, reading projects, book fairs, student reading sharing and teacher-led reading clubs.

Teacher professional training and development:

Seminars, workshops, peer lesson observations, teacher development days and teachers' periods are often organized to share learning and teaching experiences and encourage teachers to pursue continuous learning.

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The school also arranges teachers to enroll in integrated education courses to enhance their professional competence. At the same time, the school also provides students with special educational needs (SEN) with graded assignments and examination adaptations to enhance their learning effectiveness. The School-based Educational Psychologist conducts regular assessments for students with special needs and invites parents to participate in the development of individualized learning plans for students, so as to equip parents with the skills to take care of and teach their children effectively.

In addition, the Section has flexibly utilized the "Support Grant for Non-Chinese Speaking Students with Special Educational Needs" to employ teaching assistants to provide support to classes, produce teaching materials, and assist in the implementation of career planning activities, so as to provide appropriate support to non-Chinese speaking students with special educational needs (SEN students).

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
Parents may refer to the "Handbook on Application for Secondary One Discretionary Places", or visitEducation Bureau(https://www.edb.gov.hk/) or call: 2891 0088 for a list of schools through the Education Bureau's automated telephone enquiry system.

Parents can only apply for a maximum of two participating secondary schools for their children. Note: Applications for Discretionary Places from more than two secondary schools, whether submitted in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-platform, will be considered invalid.
