The school emphasizes "biliteracy and trilingualism", with equal emphasis on Chinese and English. In line with the fine-tuning of the Medium of Instruction (MOI) policy, the school has actively strengthened the English proficiency training of students at all levels by providing group teaching and after-school enrichment programs to reinforce their English foundation. Life-wide Learning:
The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities to develop students' potential. In addition to the Student Union and Grade School Organizations, the school also provides different types of clubs and interest groups, which are divided into four major categories: Academic, Arts, Sports and Service. Every year, the school organizes a number of overseas study tours, such as the English/Environmental Exchange Tour to Germany, the Cultural Study Tour to Taiwan and the Exchange Tour to Scotland, etc., to broaden students' horizons and exposure. The development of the four key projects:
1. Learning through reading: The school emphasizes on the language foundation of students. The school-based junior secondary curriculum includes "Chorus Recitation" and Read Aloud Programme every Monday to enhance students' reading and speaking skills in English and Chinese.
In addition, the Library regularly organizes different activities to cultivate students' good reading habits and broaden their knowledge and horizons, such as: Morning Reading Classes, Reading Smart Star Award Scheme, Borrowing List, Happy Reading Carnival, Night Tour to the Library - Science Journey, Book Buying Fun, and Recommendation and Sharing of Good Books.
2. Using e-learning mode to promote interactive learning: Teachers use IT and e-learning mode to promote the effectiveness of the classroom, which not only effectively meets the learning needs of the students, but also allows them to use IT products as a learning tool in the classroom for data collection, video recording, group discussion and real-time report production, and real-time interactive exchanges with the whole class through Airplay, which helps to enhance the quality and effectiveness of learning and teaching. 3. Moral and Civic Education: Through moral and civic education activities and related programs, students are encouraged to actively participate in local volunteer services for the elderly, the disabled and the hearing impaired. The school actively promotes the recycling of waste and simple living, emphasizes on national education and enhances students' understanding of the country, so as to enhance students' recognition of their national identity and build up their positive outlook on life.
Career Planning Education :
The School's College and Career Counseling Unit leads various subjects, groups and other external organizations to provide students with appropriate information and counseling support according to their needs in learning, further education and career development through aptitude tests, learning activities, games, courses, workshops, competitions, training activities, joint career planning seminars, parents' evenings, career experience programs, overseas study tours, interview training classes and the "Career Confidant Program". Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
The School is committed to building an inclusive culture on campus and adopting a Whole School Approach to IE. The Student Support Team comprises the Principal, Deputy Principal, SENCo, Academic Officer and Social Worker, together with the Educational Psychologist and Speech Therapist, to take care of students with special educational needs (SEN). The SENCo is responsible for formulating strategic support plans and utilizing the Learning Support Grant and other resources to provide appropriate support for students with SEN. In addition to the services of the school-based educational psychologist, we have purchased speech therapy, reading and writing groups, concentration training groups and employed teaching assistants to collaborate in the teaching process for small group or individual counseling. Our school also takes care of students' learning differences through curriculum design, diversified teaching strategies, optimized tiered assignments, homework and test accommodations, etc. to enhance students' learning effectiveness.
