School-wide language policy:

The school provides English and Chinese as the medium of instruction. Students are assigned to their respective MOI environments based on their prior learning backgrounds, personal preferences, and language abilities. In some classes, Mainland Chinese students and ethnic minority students will be mixed in one class to enhance interaction between the two. For Chinese students with excellent English proficiency, they may choose English as the MOI for some subjects, and ethnic minorities may also choose English as the MOI. In addition, in the context of ethnic diversity, English, Putonghua and Cantonese have become the languages of communication in students' daily school life.

Tests and study adaptation measures:

There are two separate semesters in the school year. The first semester runs from September to January; the second semester runs from February to June. Student performance consists of student work on weekdays and a final examination. Student work accounts for 40% of the total and the final examination accounts for 60%. Student work is in the form of quizzes, project reports, worksheets and presentations, etc. The final examination, which is an assessment of the overall competence level of the subject, will be held in January and June respectively. Students' academic performance will be presented in the Academic Report and issued during the Parent-Teacher Day.

The Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System consists of two phases: Discretionary Places Allocation (DP) and Central Allocation (CA).
Discretionary places refer to S1 places reserved by schools for self-admission of students. Government, aided and caput secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places not exceeding 30%, while DSS secondary schools are allowed to reserve S1 places exceeding 30%.
The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.
