The school has a simple school ethos and harmonious teacher-student relationships, with a particular emphasis on teaching students to emulate the humility and love of the school's patron saint, Sister Mary of Charity. The Student Growth Support Team, with the assistance of the Caritas social worker, coordinates a variety of programs and activities to nurture students' character growth, such as: morning assembly, weekly assembly, classroom teacher's class, Sunshine Generation (Big Sisters Program), Personal Growth Workshop, Adventure Camp, Mental Health Workshop, Parent-Teacher Seminar, Parenting Class, and so on.

Learning and Teaching Strategies :

The school adopts a variety of strategies, including curriculum planning and adaptation, teacher collaboration, diversified learning activities and assessment strategies to promote learning. Through the school-based curriculum, life-wide learning, cross-curricular learning and project-based learning are implemented. To organize collective lesson planning sessions and classroom research for teachers to share teaching resources and strategies. Teachers of different subjects participate in the professional development programmes organized by the Education Bureau (EDB). We also focus on securing external resources to enhance the quality of learning and teaching, such as participating in the EDB's Seed Project for Curriculum Development and applying for the Quality Education Fund (QEF). Diversified assessment strategies are utilized to obtain comprehensive information on student learning and to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching. The school has implemented the "Learning Skills Program" at junior secondary levels to help students enhance independent learning. The whole S.2 class participated in the Jockey Club's "Passing on the Legacy" Education Program in 2022-23 to deepen the understanding of the heritage of the school. The school has also participated in the Jockey Club's Intangible Cultural Heritage Education Program for 2022-23 to deepen students' understanding of culture and enhance their interest in Chinese culture. In addition, the English Department joined the Jockey Club-funded "School-based Diversity" project to help teachers cater for the diversity of students' learning. This year, the school continued to implement the "Establishment of Multi-purpose Learning Space for School-based STEM Education" supported by the Quality Education Fund.

Teacher professional training and development:

Teachers participated in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses every year to enhance their professionalism, and took advantage of the "Teacher Development Day" to discuss and share their views on teaching and learning, curriculum development, education policy, student discipline and counseling, and communication with stakeholders. School-based training for new teachers was implemented to fulfill the Education Bureau's "Enhanced Training Requirements for Promotion".

Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:

The school is committed to building an inclusive culture and adopting a "Whole School Approach" to support students with special educational needs (SEN). Coordinated by the Student-Parent Support Team, the school deploys resources to provide appropriate and diversified support services to enhance the learning effectiveness of students and facilitate their integration into school life. Schools flexibly utilize the Learning Support Grant to employ additional teaching assistants and use the grant to procure professional services for students with special educational needs. In addition, the school arranges homework and examination adaptations according to the special learning needs of students, and organizes "Homework Tutorial Classes" for junior secondary students with low academic performance. The school also organizes Individual Learning Plan (ILP) meetings for students with special needs, and helps students design specific and feasible support plans through multi-disciplinary talks. The school emphasizes home-school co-operation and has established a regular communication mechanism to discuss with parents on strategies to support students through different channels.

Educational support for non-Chinese speaking students:

The School provides additional support for admitted NCS students to learn Chinese: employing additional teachers/teaching assistants to support NCS students' Chinese language learning; arranging intensive Chinese language teaching modes (e.g. pull-out learning, small group learning, etc.); developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting teaching materials; and organizing cultural integration activities. Arranging examinations for internationally recognized Chinese language qualifications.

There are 26 classrooms, 11 special rooms, an assembly hall, a basketball court, 2 multi-media learning rooms, a music room, a dance room, a multi-purpose special room, a campus TV room and a library. Each classroom and multi-purpose special room is equipped with air-conditioning and multi-media teaching facilities (including computers, physical projectors and projectors) to enhance teaching effectiveness. Fiber optic and wireless networks are installed throughout the school, and all rooms are equipped with network access points so that students can use mobile devices for e-learning.

The application period for the 2024 Discretionary Places is from January 2 to January 16, 2024. All secondary schools participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System (participating secondary schools) will accept applications during the same period. Parents of current Primary 6 students participating in the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) will receive two copies of the Application Form for Secondary 1 Discretionary Places in early December 2023 through their children's elementary school.

Parents can submit applications in paper form or through the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) e-Platform. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn, canceled or changed.
