School-wide language policy:
Two classes at each level of the Junior Secondary School are taught in English (please refer to the information on subjects offered in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 school years for more details). All other classes are timetabled, with Mathematics and Science taught in English to enhance students' English proficiency. English is taught in small groups at all levels, with a total of 33 groups for individualized instruction. The percentage of students achieving Level 3 or above in Chinese and English in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination exceeds the territory-wide standard, which is conducive to university admission. Under the guidance of the English teacher, the school won the champion of the New Territories East Division 2 in the Inter-School English Debate Competition in 2022. Putonghua lessons are offered in junior secondary schools and morning assembly is conducted in Cantonese, English and Putonghua. Interdisciplinary language development is supported by the Quality School Improvement Program (QSIP) of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with cross-curricular co-curricular preparation in English and Science to support students' learning of other subjects in English.
Tests and study adaptation measures:
- A marking system is in place to facilitate learning. Teachers arrange tests according to the progress of undergraduate teaching and encourage students to revise and reflect on their learning.

Application for S1 admission:
The school accepts applications for S1 Discretionary Places and participates in the Central Allocation of Secondary School Places (CASPA). The EDB ranking is 70% and the interview ranking is 30%. Interview: Chinese and English reading, English conversation, group interview, science experiment. Extra points will be awarded for outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities (e.g. inter-school awards, Hong Kong representative team, etc.) or special talents.

The school's ethos is simple, with a program of strictness and care, which is both disciplined and supportive. Students are disciplined and neatly groomed. The core spirit of responsibility, respect, and perseverance is upheld, with emphasis on self-discipline, self-love, mutual help and love. A dual class teacher system and a sunshine phone line are implemented to maintain close contact with parents. We have weekly meetings, Class Teacher's Day, Positive Sunshine Classes, and morning lectures to cultivate students' good morals.
Learning and Teaching Strategies :
- Excellent results in the HKDSE Examination: The senior secondary school arranges a suitable amount of after-school and vacation tutorials to enhance the results. The pass rate of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination exceeds 95%. The percentage of students meeting the basic entry requirements (i.e. 33222) of local undergraduate programs is higher than the territory-wide level; the percentage of students meeting the requirements of Associate Degree Programs (i.e. 22222) is close to 90% on average, and the majority of our students are qualified for admission to universities and tertiary institutions.
- Learning and Teaching: Independent learning is promoted, with emphasis on pre-testing, note-taking and organizing. Diversified assignments are arranged, different platforms are set up for students to demonstrate their learning achievements, and students are praised for their perseverance and learning strategies. Classroom learning emphasizes teacher-student and student-student interactions, group collaborative learning, and study skills classes are set up to enhance the effectiveness of students' learning.
Teacher professional training and development:
Through the Teachers' Development Day, different topics are organized, joint lesson preparation and peer lesson observation are arranged to enhance professional exchanges among teachers and to improve teaching effectiveness and quality. Encourage teachers to pursue further studies and build a learning organization. Collaborated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong to implement a self-directed learning program, provide teacher training, strengthen middle-level leadership and enhance students' motivation to learn. Participated in the Jockey Club Happy Campus Project and received a $3 million grant from the Jockey Club Charities Trust to implement positive education, train teachers, enrich and consolidate their knowledge of positive education, integrate positive education elements into daily teaching, develop character strengths, and cultivate students to develop a growth mindset in order to face up to challenges.
Whole School Participation Model Integrated Education:
Set up SST (Student Support Team) with senior teachers as SENCOs, emphasizing home-school cooperation, with SST members also serving as PTA officers. Liaise closely with counselors, social workers and educational psychologists. Case conferences are held when necessary.
